CATTLE AND CULTURE
With its lush meadows and rippling cornfields, it’s easy to forget that Fredriksdal is in the heart of a city, with busy motorways just a stone’s throw away. Old dwellings, a malt drier, gun forge and old privy can all be seen along the way.
The Lillaryd farmhouse, dating from the 1600s, is just one of the 50 historical buildings you can visit at Fredriksdal. Cows, sheep and goats graze peacefully, and you might see one of Skåne’s typical geese waddling by. Maybe the heavy Ardenne horses are out pulling the plough. Many of the animals that live in the grounds of Fredriksdal are endangered native species that have been given sanctuary here.
